250 tickets cleared in a year. What makes SYSTEMI the partner that accelerates development at more than twice the previous pace
Background & Challenge
Adding engineers was difficult, and a chronic resource shortage set in. Web initiatives kept stalling, and competitive advantage was slowly eroding—some tickets had been on hold for three years.
How SYSTEMI Engaged
We assigned one PM, one requirements lead, and several developers, flexibly reshaping the team to match each development phase while carrying the project forward.
Results
250 tickets cleared in one year (more than double the previous pace). Long-stalled features—an automated recommendation engine and an unattended tour-booking system—were implemented. Incidents dropped, conversion rates rose, and SEO scores improved.
"SYSTEMI's appeal is the breadth of their technical capability and the flexibility of their staffing."
— Mr. Masahito Horie (Manager, Systems Section, Sales & Customer Division)
Why they chose SYSTEMI: "proposal strength" and "speed"—from PoC through technology selection to implementation, all in one
Background & Challenge
Building an education service, they were searching for a development partner with payment-systems expertise, comparing more than ten companies.
How SYSTEMI Engaged
After grasping the requirements, we delivered a proposal that included the system architecture diagram and technology selection. We implemented a payment system supporting both credit cards and convenience-store payments via the Stripe API. A continuing engagement since July 2023.
Results
A payment system absorbing complex payment flows (first-time, recurring, and convenience-store payments) went live in production, cutting both management and communication costs.
"Being able to hand the whole thing over and let go of it—that's SYSTEMI's strength."
— Mr. Ketsuka (Cloud integrator, 120 employees)
Broad expertise and a "stay-close" mindset as their strengths—over 10 UI/UX enhancements after a three-month rapid handover
Background & Challenge
Concerns over the incumbent vendor's costs, contract terms, and vendor lock-in led to the decision to switch. The Nichigas Group's digital safety-inspection app needed enhancement, including support for external sales.
How SYSTEMI Engaged
We acquired domain knowledge of gas operations during a three-month rapid handover, delivered more than 10 UI/UX enhancements from the perspective of field workers, and continued to offer proactive improvement proposals around cost and maintainability.
Results
From estimate to development kickoff in three months. More than 10 UI/UX enhancements completed, plus changes to the external-sales specifications. Their "nimble" responsiveness and forward-looking proposals earned high praise.
"Many of them grasp ten from hearing one—they pick up on the needs we never spell out."
— Mr. Kikukawa (Information & communications, 40 employees)
MODEL CASE
FDE in Action
On a renewal project driven only by AI hype, we stepped in as an FDE from the front line and clarified "the questions to settle first"
Background & Challenge
They wanted to bring in AI and renew the core system, but departmental demands collided with existing constraints. With permissions, auditing, migration, and external integration all unresolved, they couldn't move forward on requirements definition or an RFP.
How We Engaged as an FDE
We first organized the key questions, the premises to lock down early, non-functional requirements, technical feasibility, and the scope for AI adoption. We made the vendor-comparison criteria and rough estimates visible, and produced an FDE report ready to hand off to the next phase.
The Ideal Outcome
Requirements definition and implementation begin without breakdowns, and AI is adopted not as a vague add-on but in an implementation plan aligned with the business and its constraints.
